INFOM Chinese Taipei Chapter: Promoting Forest Therapy and Sustainable Development

The INFOM (International Society of Nature and Forest Medicine) Chinese Taipei Chapter is an interdisciplinary organisation dedicated to advancing the practice and study of forest therapy. Our goal is to promote scientific exploration of the health benefits provided by nature, enabling healthcare professionals to confidently recommend nature-based therapies that help individuals restore both body and mind in natural settings.

Although INFOM was originally founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 2011 to study the effects of forest bathing on health, the increasing global interest in forest therapy has led to the official establishment of the INFOM Chinese Taipei Chapter. We aim to leverage Taiwan’s rich natural resources and biodiversity to promote forest therapy activities, enhancing public understanding and support for this beneficial practice.

Forest Therapy Promotion Activities

The INFOM Chinese Taipei Chapter is committed to designing and conducting a variety of activities to raise awareness of forest therapy. We organise activities such as forest trail hikes and nature meditation sessions, allowing the public to experience the benefits of forest therapy first-hand. Our promotional activities are held across Taiwan’s forests and protected areas, helping more people enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of forest therapy.

Forest Therapy Market Research

To better understand the demand for forest therapy in Taiwan, we conduct regular market research and analysis. By collecting and analysing public demand, expectations, and feedback on forest therapy, we continuously improve and refine our activities, further promoting forest therapy and increasing awareness of its importance and potential benefits.

Forest Therapy Social Media and Public Relations

The INFOM Chinese Taipei Chapter actively manages various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, to share information about forest therapy and our latest activities. We also collaborate with media outlets to release press statements and feature articles, fostering public interest and engagement with forest therapy.

Forest Therapy Partnerships

The INFOM Chinese Taipei Chapter has built close partnerships with various organisations, including healthcare institutions, universities, non-profits, and social enterprises. Together, we develop forest therapy programmes and courses, encouraging broader participation and realising a wider application of forest therapy through interdisciplinary cooperation.

Forest Therapy Education and Training

The INFOM Taipei Chapter offers diverse education and training courses, ranging from introductory courses to advanced training. These courses enable those interested in forest therapy to gain in-depth knowledge. Our training not only covers theoretical aspects but also includes practical sessions, ensuring that participants can independently lead forest therapy activities upon completion, thus promoting the widespread adoption of the practice.

Other Initiatives Promoting Human Health, Well-being, and Sustainable Growth of Nature

In addition to promoting forest therapy, the INFOM Taipei Chapter also engages in various other initiatives dedicated to human health and environmental sustainability. We actively participate in and support ecological conservation and environmental education projects, such as protecting Taiwan’s native plant species and advancing environmental education. These efforts not only enhance public environmental awareness but also contribute to Taiwan's natural conservation efforts.

INFOM is an interdisciplinary organisation open to professionals and enthusiasts interested in nature and health. We are honoured to announce the official establishment of the INFOM Taipei Chapter in Taiwan. It is a privilege to promote forest therapy on this beautiful island, sharing Taiwan’s natural resources and healing power with people from all around the world.
