The Japanese Society for Hygiene was founded in 1929 and is the biggest preventive medicine society in Japan (http://www.nihon-eisei.org/en/). This award is evidence that forest medicine has been recognized by the medical community as a new preventive medicine. This is a great milestone in forest medicine research.
